Background & Education
Robert was born and raised in Brownsville, graduating from St. Joseph Academy in 1994. He graduated from Rice University in 1998 with a double major in Political Science and Policy Studies and later from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law in 2002.

Experience
Upon passing the Texas Bar, Robert returned to Cameron County to work as an Assistant District Attorney for Yolanda de Leon. After nearly two years at the DA's office, having risen from a misdemeanor prosecutor to a felony first chair prosecutor, he moved to Royston, Rayzor, Vickery & Williams, LLP. He spent 15 years at the firm, ten of those as a partner. During this time, Robert was voted a Texas Super Lawyer Rising Star for four years, and was named a Texas Super Lawyer in civil litigation for 2019 and 2020.

Community
Robert is committed to his community, having served on a variety of public service boards. His service includes terms as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Su Clinica Familiar, a local community-based health center, and co-founder of the 100 Club of RGV, a group dedicated to supporting first responders throughout the Rio Grande Valley.
